THE WINTER STORM WARNING IS NOW IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT
TO 6 PM CST SUNDAY.
* TIMING AND LOCATION: SNOW WILL SPREAD ACROSS ASHLAND AND IRON COUNTIES AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT. THE SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGH SUNDAY AND WILL BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES.
* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 18 TO 24 INCHES OF SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED IN THE WARNING AREA...WITH HIGHEST AMOUNTS EXPECTED ALONG THE GOGEBIC RANGE.
* WINDS AND VISIBILITY: NORTH WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH WILL CAUSEBLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WHICH COULD REDUCE VISIBILITIES TO LESS THAN A MILE AT TIMES. LOCALLY STRONGER GUSTS...30 TO 40 MPH...ARE EXPECTED NEAR LAKE SUPERIOR.
* MAIN IMPACT: THE ACCUMULATING...BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WILL MAKE TRAVEL HAZARDOUS. BITTERLY COLD WIND CHILLS OF 15 TO 30 BELOW ZERO ARE EXPECTED SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY MORNING.

Yep...drifting already underway in the driveway....idiots speeding on snow-covered roads....I think we're going to get more snow than you in the central part of the state but you'll probably get more cold air...

Yes, we're supposed to get some extremely cold air, cold for this winter so far. 20-25 below wind chill factors. Time to stay in the house, tend the fire, reduce yourself to tears (well, me anyway) by reading newpapers & blogs. Oh, & watch the Packers & eat.
