Friday

It's a muggy Friday morning. Low clouds. No breeze. I've got a chiropractic appointment at mid-morning. Just found out a nephew has some strange infection in his foot. He was traveling with a drum & bugle corps in NYC & is now hospitalized. He has no insurance. This is what's wrong with America. My sister is a bit beside herself, she offered to pay for the hospitalization, something she probably can't afford. Why in the hell is this, paying for an acute healthcare problem, even a worry in the most advanced society in the world? Bush is vacationing while people still die in Iraq & my sister cries for her son in a hospital in NYC, cries for him & how she is going to pay for his healthcare. I guess this is what Bush means when he talks about the ownership society.
