Beats

I'm 6 years older than this guy, had exactly the same experience, but in a high school in Rhinelander, WI. The teacher recently passed away, but I will never forget her or that poem.

"Cimino, 51, said he caught the Beat bug in 1968 as an eighth-grader at a suburban Baltimore Roman Catholic school when an English teacher gave a reading of an untitled Lawrence Ferlinghetti poem that used a loose, conversational and irreverent tone to tell the story of Jesus Christ."

So lets put all of the facts together.

1. It happened in high school.

2. It involved a teacher.

3. The teacher was female.

4. It involved Jesus Christ.

5. "I'll never forget her"

Conclusions:

Your lapse of reality in 1967 involved a female teacher using a "loose" conversational (you can call it that) tone (Ya right tone) to covert you to a born again......
Oh God Oh God...

Cool !!!!

Sound like the Summer of 42 (67 in your case).

Cool the big JR scores one in 1967.

NOW thats a lapse of reality!!
