It's The Teacher's Fault, Of Course

Private, for-profit, shareholder value is the supreme good Insurance companies are why we have becomer a coarser society, a less caring society, a society in deep crisis.  Here's one reason--
...a statement from the California Assn. of Health Plans, an industry group, which warned that the new law will "drive up healthcare costs for families and businesses by nearly $850 million a year."

*****

California's new law highlights the fact that an insurance system led by profit-focused market forces often leaves people out in the cold. It also shows that government clearly has a role to play in healthcare when private companies fail to meet the responsibilities of a civilized society.
My emphases.
