Cheney continues to try to confuse Americans into thinking that the war in Iraq and the war on terrorism are one in the same. They weren't before President Bush decided to go to war. It was the administration's decision to attack Iraq and the resulting destabilization of that country that drew international Islamic terrorists to Baghdad.
This kind of despicable deceit apparently is all that Karl Rove has left in his playbook. Calling Democrats soft on national security every time they attempt to raise legitimate questions about how we extract our troops from Iraq ignores the fact that most Americans are asking the same thing.
