Cash register, safe in car tip off police to 3 suspects

That was a headline for this story in today's Times-Picayune. I got a good laugh from it & then here is a cop with a sense of humor.
Upon approaching the suspects' car, Livingston sheriff's deputies saw a small safe and a cash register inside, Foltz said.

"We call that a clue," he said.

Amen

Cluelessness, indeed.
But Rove's miscalculations were actually more fundamental than those that Green enumerates. At bottom, he and Bush overlooked the epochal growth of economic insecurity in America. They refused to see that the very economic changes they celebrated had made Americans understandably nervous and pessimistic to an unprecedented extent about the nation's long-term economic prospects. And so, as employers were abandoning their provision of retirement benefits to employees, Bush and Rove called for abandoning the government's commitment as well.

Piling On

& rightly so. The fucking Corps of Engineers has wreaked way more damage than one can imagine. & they, like Bu$hCo, will not accept any responsibility.
"This water is irreplaceable," he said. "It has reached a point where the damage is profound. It is now threatening the hydrological integrity of the entire upper Great Lakes."

Poor Denny

Things just aren't corrupt enough for him anymore.

Interesting

Yeah, I know it's science, but it's UW-Madison science, & it is interesting. Here's more on the amygdala. Here's a picture of it.

The image “http://www.nih.gov/news/pr/jul2002/amygdala.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

It's displayed in red. One of my favorite colors, politically, at least.

Time To Bone Up On History

Via The Raw Story, comes the tale of America's decline, or possible decline. I'm opting for decline, given this & this & this &, most disturbingly, this.
America's top government inspector didn't stop there. He also bemoaned US fiscal policy, underfunded healthcare, poor public schools, lack of retirement benefits, a worsening environment, Iraq, aging infrastructure and immigration policy. His remark about "aging infrastructure" came just days before the Minneapolis bridge collapse.

"Simply stated, America is on a path toward an explosion of debt," he added. "And that indebtedness threatens our country's, our children's, and our grandchildren's futures."

"Long range simulations from my agency are chilling," he continued. "If we continue as we have, policy makers will eventually have to dramatically and/or slash government services the American people depend on and take for granted. Just pick a program -- student loans, the interstate highway system, national parks, federal law enforcement, and even our armed forces."
For some teevee background, you could start with this.

Or this.

Or, for the already converted perverted, there is this.

If you don't believe we're on the Eve of Destruction, ponder these:
Fear of fellatio, er, fear of black men.

Pizza pie? I think not, plus way to be balanced, you mention the ReThug party once, but not that Pizza boy is a ReThug.

Paging Mr. Foley.

The face of god?

This is too easy, I'm going to quit.

No More Peeing Off The Deck, I Guess

The future?
Basically, just tango on. And hope somebody will do the same for you when your time comes. Unless the big breakthrough happens first.
It's almost as bad as The Future.
Give me back my broken night
my mirrored room, my secret life
it's lonely here,
there's no one left to torture
Give me absolute control
over every living soul
And lie beside me, baby,
that's an order!
Give me crack and anal sex
Take the only tree that's left
and stuff it up the hole
in your culture

Keeping Up

Tiger just won the PGA Championship & I watched it, note to my young friend in North Carolina, online. The PGA has a great online service & I was able to watch all of Tiger's last round live. It took awhile for us to get DSL here in the northern nowhere of Wisco, but now that we have it, I do all the stuff the kids are doing. Well, not everything.

More about that here.

More on this here.

The Suffering Continues

While it is true that New Orleans had troubles before Katrina, there has been too much pain of this kind in the last two years. If you read the whole article, the survivor says the three criminals seemed surprised when the gun went off, killing Mr. Meija. Surprised? Have these people never shot a gun? Don't they realize what happens when you put a bullet into someone's skull? On the other hand, if no one cares about you, why care about anything? This is not to excuse the inexcusable murder of this young man, but even the moron Bu$hCo claims hope is essential for citizens of a democracy. Apparently, in our democracy, Bu$hCo doesn't believe it has a place.

It's A Start

But, ho-hum.

Molnau Swatted Alright, & Missed

Big time, to coin a ReThug phrase. This is just one more problem with the ReThug mantra of no tax increases. It's just stupid, so stupid it burns, or, as the case may be, collapses.

What Changed, Dick Cheney?

What a goddamned, son-of-a-bitch! Yes, I used the dreaded exclamation point. To quote another friend, what an asshole.
