Some Sort Of Professional Sport Was Apparently Played In Wisco Tonight

Something to do with a bat & a small, white orb with stitched up scars all around it.  I guess congratulations should go out to nonheroicvet for his loyalty to this blog.  He is one of my five (yes,5!) loyal readers. Oh yeah, & loyalty to this sport.

Ack, Overlooked Again

nonheroicvet had to, just had to, remind of of this slight, no Nobel for me, again.  Congrats to Tomas Transtromer.

THE COUPLE

They turn the light off, and its white globe glows

an instant and then dissolves, like a tablet

in a glass of darkness. Then a rising.

The hotel walls shoot up into heaven’s darkness.

Their movements have grown softer, and they sleep,

but their most secret thoughts begin to meet

like two colors that meet and run together

on the wet paper in a schoolboy’s painting.

It is dark and silent. The city however has come nearer

tonight. With its windows turned off. Houses have come.

They stand packed and waiting very near,

a mob of people with blank faces.

Pass The Black Armband, Please

I suppose we won't be seeing much of Shutterwi, what with the mourning & all.  I believe we will be seeing. however, a new semi-human phenomenon, the Apple Zombie crusing the streets.

Sports Beat - 48 - 17 Version

The Badgers put the good hammer down on the newest member of the Big 10, Nebraska, 48 - 17.  It was a fun game to watch, except The Babies watched something else in the other motel room.  Oh well, they're in kindergarten now & have their own lives to live. I'm  very lucky however. the Badgers routing Nebraska in one room & the sweet Babies in the other.  Who could ask for anything more?

More here.

It Appears Some Prfessional Sports Team Besides THE PACKERS Have Done Something

Brewers win the title!  Brewers win the title!!  Brewers win the title!!!  Well, actually not quite yet, but they did make the playoffs, which has forced one of my loyal 5 (yes, five!) readers into paroxysms of delight.

Promising Research

Hopefully this country will get its head out of its ass someday & realize the value of openness, imagination, aesthetics, feelings, abstract ideas, and general broad-minedness.  & how come I don't live closer to John Hopkins?
