It's also a colossal failure of our institutions of education & the pie-in-the-sky religions that the ReThugs so love. This is a shame, a true stain on our country. That Bu$hCo, Dick "Dick" Cheney, & Joe Lieberman, among others have nurtured & instituted as national policy.

WorldPublicOpinion said a 2006 poll found that 36 percent of Americans would accept torture in terrorism or other cases, compared with 44 percent now.

Luckily, a very slim majority, 53%, still believe torture ought to be banned. The fact that we are even polling on torture shows how low we have fallen. It's like polling on whether or not sex is fun.

Here is a report about Gen. Taguba, remember him? He investigated the "alleged" torture, yes, I used the scary quotation marks purposely. He also wrote up his findings. By doing his job, he became another casualty in Bu$hCo's vanity war.

Well, that's about all I can take on a nice warm January day in northern Wisco. & all in my name. Note as well that some of these interrogations were not done by government personnel, but by contractors. Privatizing torture, it's the American way.

Reynolds has come under fire for knowing about the inappropriate emails for many months and covering it up to protect his colleague who has since been forced to resign.
