George Carlin, R.I.P.

Obit here.

Crap &, yes, here those other seven words:
And words, you know the seven don't you? Shit, Piss, Fuck, Cunt, Cocksucker, Motherfucker, and Tits, huh? Those are the heavy seven. Those are the ones that will infect your soul, curve your spine and keep the country from winning the war.

My emphasis.

La Leche League

Since it involves the boobies, I'm sure the ReThugs are against it. Anyway, good for Edwina.

Abe Osheroff, R.I.P.

Another American patriot gone.
Mr. Osheroff's last speech was in San Francisco on March 30, when he spoke from a wheelchair at the unveiling of a monument to the 3,000 American volunteers in the first against Franco in what came to be called the Abraham Lincoln Brigade. Nine hundred were killed.

Christ

Another horror story involving guns.
The gunman was a sociology graduate student who was enrolled in classes at NIU last spring but was not currently enrolled there, Peters said.

Just sayin'. My emphasis.

Extinction

Marie Smith Jones, R.I.P. She was the last person who was fluent in Eyak, a language of Alaska. Too bad. We really are losing more than we will ever be able to recoup.
"With her death, the Eyak language becomes extinct," Krauss said.

Weepin' Willie Robinson, R.I.P.

Obit here.
But early yesterday morning at about 12:30, after a night out, he took a taxi back to the home, walked into his room, and lit a cigarette.

The Dead

Here are a few that I gave some sort of crap about.

Norman Mailer - Known as a controversial and prolific novelist with a great influence on America literature, he died Nov. 10 at age 84.

Oscar Peterson - His genius made him one of world's greatest jazz pianists. His career began in the 1940s and continued until his death this month.

Kurt Vonnegut - Author or "Slaughterhouse Five," based on his experience in Dresden during WWII, and other books, he died April 12 at the age of 84.
More from here.

Molly Ivins, 62, Texas political columnist.

Frankie Laine, 93, hit-making crooner.

Tom Poston, 85, virtuosic comic actor.

Ingmar Bergman, 89, master filmmaker.

Tom Snyder, 71, pioneer of late-night television.
