Slacker

I apologize to my loyal four readers about the dearth of posting the last couple of days. I actually had to work & am finally realizing that xmas is only 11 days away & I haven't finished all of the HANDMADE GIFTS I am making. I know that I do not deserve any sympathy, so I won't ask or beg or demand or slink off into the corner to pout. So, if you're inclined, go here tonight for some good times, if you know what I mean, but only if you have broadband.

During Mr Creek's commendable efforts to observe the pagan ritual of exchanging gifts during the Winter Solstice, the passing of a local notable should be observed.
Dorothy Sarazin Smith was born and raised about four miles from Mr. Creek's current digs. According to her obit, she is a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame (seriously) and by accounts of the old folks was a remarkable athlete. She pitched for the local baseball team before going on to the womens major leagues during WWII. Her achievements did not recieve much notice locally because she was not from one of the local royal families. Hers is an example of what can be accomplished with real ability and determination.

And not only that, I am shocked to learn that Barry Bonds was using steroids.

So -- how long does it take to make a gift for each of your four readers anyway?

No family coming home this year has put me in a purple funk...having a hard time getting "into" the whole holiday thing....I went to a local mall yesterday and observed the shoppers and couldn't help but feel a large measure of disgust.

I think I'm becoming a grumpy old man...
