& I Thought Mercer Was The Land Of The Loons

Sept. 3, Gregg A. Kroll, Forest Lake, MN, was ejected and injured from his vehicle on Cty Road D near Tower Road.

Damn vehicle ejects & injures.

Sept. 2, Dianne L. Schmitz, Sparta, was involved in an ATV accident on St. Croix Trail. Witnesses said she may have been driving too fast, causing her to crash into a tree. The incident will be investigated with charges possibly pending.

“Charges possibly pending” - doesn’t that include, well, everything?
Sept. 5, Thomas R. Casey, Danbury, reported a criminal damage to property hit and run. Two males were on a golf cart hitting mailboxes. There are no suspects and the matter is still being investigated.

I’d like to know just what a “property hit and run” is - I mean, there was damage to something, & that something was a “property hit and run.” Very interesting. Plus, if I were the cops, I investigate anyone with a white belt & cranberry polyester slacks. The golf cart, you know.

Sept. 4, Christopher L. Needham, Grantsburg, was arrested for a warrant from Burnett County.

I didn’t know it was illegal to carry a warrant. Must be some kind of gun, or drug, or inability to use the English language.

Sept. 2, Peggy S. Stager, Siren, and Tamara A. Rutzen, Webster, crashed into each other on Hwy 35 after Stager failed to yield. Rutzen was injured and taken to the Burnett County Medical Center, but she was cited for driving a non-registered vehicle. Stager was also cited for failing to yield.

Someone, anyone, I am begging you, explain the highlighted sentence to me.

Aug. 28, Debra M. Sear, Roseville, MN, collided with a bear on Hwy. 70 from Johnson Road.

Oh, that Hwy. 70.
