What is needed here is greater partnership between the Department of Energy, and the House Special Oversight Committee.

With 35 years' expertise in deep-shaft work and a keen understanding of the kind of back-door politics that was a real pain in the backside in Pennsylvania coal-mining operations, I have an understanding of the firm, hard line that has to be taken man-to-man with state regulatory agencies to prevent more accidents like this.
